I'm an assistant professor of the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do
Norte (
UFRN) in the
Centro de Ensino Superior do Seridó
(
CERES) at
the Departamento de Ciências Exatas e Apilicadas (DCEA),
where I teach in the Information Systems course.
My main research topics are Network Security, Machine Learning, Dynamic
Programming, Hybrid Intelligent Systems, Artificial Neural Networks,
Evolutionary Computation, Knowledge Representation and Reasoning.
Courses
Google Summer of Code
Google Summer of Code
is a global program that offers student developers
stipends to write code for various open source software projects.
I worked in GSoC since 2007 mainly with
Nmap and
Umit
projects.
In this section I present the tasks I performed every year.
- 2009
- In the GSoC 2009 the proposal about Zion and RadialNet improvements
was accepted by Umit Project.
The proposal can be found
here and the
development website
here.
- 2008
- For the GSoC 2008 I created one page with some
ideas for Umit and Nmap projects.
The proposal I wrote can be found
here. Due to mastering courses
I had no time to work in GSoC this year.
- 2007
- In the GSoC 2007 RadialNet was accepted by Umit Project.
For more information related to this project you see the
initial proposal, the
project website and the
Umit website.
Projects
- Butija
- It is a software to catalog many electronic documents
format like pdf, ps, djvu, chm and many other without restrictions.
The project was interrupted years ago. Visit the
project website for more information.
- Clann
- This library was developed in a mastering engineering course of
Artificial Neural Networks. You can see the
project website for more information.
- Destate
- It is a software developed for the Discrete Events Systems
mastering engineering course. You can see the
project website for more information.
- RestaUm
- It was developed in a mastering engineering course of
Reinforcement Learning. The software purpose is to be a language
independent peg solitaire game simulator, view and server. Where the
communication between client and server is done by a simple plain text
protocol. Visit the
project website for more information.
- Umit
- It is a network security project that I work for since 2007.
Almost all my research is implemented in some sense in Umit.
Visit the project website for more information.
